These Labor Day activities for elementary school students are perfect for back to school or community helpers and jobs lessons and activities. They can also be assigned as extension or early-finisher activities, or given out as take-home or return-to-school independent practice.

This packet includes a choice board of 9 Labor Day activities and all of the complementary worksheets needed to complete them.

Students can choose from activities like:

The Coolest Job

Use your imagination to come up with a new kind of job that doesn't exist yet. What would you need to do? How often would you work? What would your salary be? Draw and write about it in your journal.

When I Grow Up

Use Fact Monster to search for 5 jobs you may like to have when you grow up. In your writing journal, write 3 things you learned about the job and circle the job you think you’d like to have the most!

The Ultimate Parade

Many communities have parades on Labor Day. Use graph paper to create a map showing your parade route and draw who and what would be in your special parade.
