These Christmas student choice math activities for middle school students are perfect for the countdown to Christmas in your classroom!

They are great as extension or early-finisher activities, for use in a math center, or given as take-home independent practice work.

This packet includes a choice board of 9 Christmas activities, plus all of the links and printables needed to complete the activities.

Students can choose from activities like:

Cookies for Santa

You left milk and cookies out for Santa on Christmas Eve. In total, there were 5 cookies on the plate. When you woke up on Christmas Day, there were some bites taken out of them. Count up how many whole cookies you could make out of the pieces Santa left: ⅓ cookie, ⅖ cookie, 1 cookie, ½ cookie, ¾ cookie.

Elf Factory Line

It is almost time for Christmas, and the elves are working hard. In Santa’s workshop there are 72 different assembly lines, each making a different toy. The goal for each assembly line is to make 3,500 toys a day. If each elf can make 10 toys a day, estimate how many elves it will take to reach the daily goal.

The Grinch

The Grinch was successful in stealing Christmas this year! He took trees, dinners and presents. Out of 368 houses in Whoville, he was able to sneak into 322. What percentage of Whoville houses did the Grinch steal Christmas from?
