Create Poetry Anchor Charts

One of the goals of this study packet is to help students recognize the poetry concepts in action. Using the story ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas, have students copy a stanza on a large, poster-sized sheet of paper. After copying down the stanza they will annotate it. They should use the vocabulary terms from strategy #1 as a reference, almost like a scavenger hunt. If they have time they can decorate the poster using holiday colors and characters.
