FutureFit Extension Activities

Get Real

(10-15 minutes, LEGO pieces, timers):
Working in pairs, give students 5-6 similarly shaped LEGO pieces but in different sizes. Ask them to time each other putting the pieces in order from largest to smallest. Then, ask them to do the same activity without looking (they can do it behind their backs, under a box lid or inside an empty desk). When they are finished, have them write a short answer essay on the challenges they faced during the activity.

Get Going

(10-15 minutes):
Lead the students through a role-playing experience to practice the correct way to help people with visual impairments using the “Sensitivity to Physical Impairments through Role Play” printable.
