This Black History Month project will help your students improve their research, writing, and presentation skills while learning about famous Black Americans who were pioneers in health and medicine. This project is appropriate for 2-3 class periods, or it can be worked on in stages over the course of several days as an extension or early finisher activity.

Project detail

Following the Health & Wellness theme of this year's Black History Month, students will research a Black American who has contributed to the advancement of medicine and health, and then write a summary and create a presentation about their chosen contributor. This activity is suitable for grades 3 to 8.
