These 9 fun, simple, and easy Mother's Day classroom activities will help elementary students celebrate moms (or other women in their lives) with creativity and flair! Use this resource as an in-class activity, or assign it for kids to work on at home or in a remote learning setting.

Students can choose from ELA and math activities like:

Sweet Similies and Mom Metaphors

Put your figurative language skills to work. Come up with five similes or metaphors that describe your mom accurately on a plain piece of white paper. Decorate it with pictures of her favorite things, photos of you and her together, or colorful designs.

You've Been a Mom For...

Write and solve some math problems to calculate just how long your mother has been your mother! Figure out how many years, months, and days you have been in your mother’s life!

Mom Haiku

A haiku poem has three lines and follows a 5-7-5 pattern. Draw a large heart on a piece of paper. Create a heartfelt haiku about your momma!
