After teaching students about the purpose, symbols, and traditions of Día de los Muertos, assign this drawing and writing activity. Students will decorate a table with Day of the Dead offerings (ofrendas) for a family member, friend, hero, or famous person who has died. Then, they will write about their drawing and the person the offerings are for. To work on speaking and listening, have each student explain their drawing to the class.
