This activity from Breathe For Change is designed to enhance students' emotional awareness. It promotes authenticity, and builds community in the classroom. In the activity the class is gathered into a community circle. Students place both hands on their hearts to connect to their breath. They are asked to notice how they are feeling and what emotional they are experiencing. You encourage students to connect to how they are feeling and to be exactly as they are. Students then choose two words to describe how they are feeling. At the end of the activity, students take turns sharing their words.
