This Women's History Month project will help your students improve their reading, research, writing, and math skills while learning about what the gender wage gap is, how to calculate it, and why it happens. This project is appropriate for 1-2 class periods, or it can be worked on in stages over the course of several days as an extension or early finisher activity.

Project detail

Students will review short reading passage about the gender wage gap, answer a set of comprehension questions, do a short math project to calculate the gender wage gap on a weekly, monthly, and yearly basis, and then research various gender-dominant jobs and respond to a series of short reflective writing prompts. This activity is suitable for grades 3 to 8.
