Investigate Activity: Making a Model Tornado

Students use a plastic bottle with a cap, salt, dishwashing detergent, glitter, and food coloring to create a model tornado. Students record descriptions and drawings of the model being swirled at different speeds. Materials list, lab hints and tips, safety notes, rubric, worksheets, and answer key are provided.
