- Introduce key vocabulary: digit, expanded form, place value, standard form, word name.
- To complete the Insects and Place Value worksheet students will explore websites.
- Students may work in pairs or small groups.
- Invite students to share their discoveries in a class discussion.
Assessment
Use students' activity sheet responses and class discussion participation to evaluate their ability to find facts, write numbers in three different forms, and understand place-value relationships.
