Shamrock Men

Age: Preschool through elementary
Time: 30 minutes or more
Type of activity: Arts and Crafts

Whether or not your family hails from the Emerald Isle, your child will enjoy making these funny green men to celebrate the holiday.

Materials needed:
· Green construction paper
· Scissors
· Glue
· Crayons, markers, or colored pencils
· Pencil

What to do:

Step One: Draw an outline of a shamrock on green construction paper, or your child can trace one herself. Then, cut the shamrock out.

Step Two: Draw a face for the shamrock man. Encourage your child to be creative by adding a bow tie, hat, or funny facial expression.

Step Three: Cut out four 8-inch long strips from the green construction paper.

Step Four: Bend each strip of paper into an accordion shape. These will be the shamrock's "arms" and "legs."

Step Five: On the back of your shamrock, glue two of these strips to the bottom for "legs." Glue two strips to the top of your shamrock for "arms."

Hang your Shamrock man up for family and friends to see!
