Discover fun facts with three levels of geography questions.

Level 1 (Grades 3-5)


The two most important canals are the Panama and Suez canals.

In what countries are these canals found? Why do you think they are important?

Level 2 (Grades 5-7)


Ukraine's southern border is formed by the Black Sea and Sea of Azov.

Much of the land in the Ukraine is called steppe. What is steppe?

Level 3 (Grades 6 and up)


The Chesapeake Bay, along the eastern coast of the U.S., is located in Virginia and up through Maryland.

The bay is actually an estuary. What is an estuary?

Level 1


The Panama Canal is in Panama, Central America. The Suez Canal is in Egypt. These canals are important because they make trips around whole continents unnecessary. Travelling around the world is much easier and quicker because of the canals.

Steppe is the name given to vast grass-covered plains.

Level 3


An estuary is a submerged river valley.
